Celebrating Heroes Among Us

Brian Bennett and Colum Leggett Receive Awards from Volunteer Centre Shefton

At a recent Celebration event organised by Volunteer Centre Sefton, we were overjoyed to see two of our dedicated volunteers, Brian Bennett and Colum Leggett, being honoured for their unwavering commitment and hard work at the Liverpool Seafarer Centre. The awards were presented by Angela White, Chief Executive of Sefton CVS, and Councillor June Burns, Mayor of Sefton.

Many of you may already be familiar with Brian and Colum from your visits to our seafarers centre in Liverpool. Brian has selflessly volunteered with us for nearly 25 years, while Colum has also dedicated a significant number of years to our cause, serving as a regular volunteer for the past 3 years.

Throughout their time with us, they have warmly welcomed thousands of seafarers from all corners of the world who have arrived in Liverpool. They have played a vital role in keeping the centre operational on a day-to-day basis, assisting with ship visits, local transportation, and supporting our mission to enhance the well-being of seafarers. Their extensive knowledge of the industry and the city of Liverpool has proven invaluable to us.

We are absolutely thrilled that Brian and Colum have received this well-deserved recognition, and we eagerly anticipate their continued involvement as part of our dedicated volunteer team.

Congratulations to you both Brian and Colum!
