Bienvenue Volunteers!

The Liverpool Seafarers Centre welcomes our new volunteers from France.

We are thrilled to introduce two new volunteers who have joined our Liverpool Seafarers Centre all the way from France. Aymeric Goyatche and Solène Du Roy have joined us through the Time of God "TfG" Placement scheme and will be lending their support until the end of this year.

These exceptional individuals will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the maritime industry and connect with the seafarers who visit our centre as well as onboard vessels. As part of our ongoing commitment to providing practical and emotional support to seafarers, Aymeric and Solène will be on hand to offer assistance and information whenever needed. They will also be actively involved in running our bar and shop, getting the chance to meet and engage with numerous seafarers passing through our centre throughout the year.

Aymeric expressed his gratitude, stating:

"Working with the team has been incredibly rewarding. The warm welcome and support provided from day one has made me feel part of a community dedicated to making a positive impact. The diverse range of tasks has not only allowed me to contribute meaningfully but has also provided valuable insights into the multifaceted work carried out at the centre. The commitment and passion demonstrated by everyone involved is truly making this volunteering experience memorable. I appreciate the opportunity to be part of an organisation that is making a difference to the lives of seafarers. I look forward to continuing my journey with the Liverpool Seafarers Centre and contributing further to its impactful initiatives. Thank you for this enriching experience!"

Sharing her experience, Solène said:

"I'm 23 years old and I joined the Liverpool Seafarers Centre at the end of January. Since my arrival, I've had the chance to contribute to the centre's various activities. I mainly help run the bar and shop. I've also assisted in sorting donations and occasionally participated in ship visits. My experience so far has been very positive. The centre's staff and volunteers have been welcoming and very helpful. And by meeting seafarers, I've learned a lot about the maritime industry. I'm happy to help make seafarers' stay in Liverpool as pleasant as possible."

We invite you to visit our centre the next time you find yourself in the Port of Liverpool.
